"The whole is more than the sum of its parts."
Aristotle, Metaphysica
The Web continues to change in exciting new ways. Trends towards more user participation and exchange of information is known as Web 2.0 and is becoming more common. Web-based communities, hosted services, web applications, social-networking sites, video-sharing sites, wikis, blogs, and mashups are all examples of this phenomenon.
Paradoxically, as the Web evolves, it becomes both easier and more complex at the same time. "Web standards" comes to the rescue by endorsing a set of best practices for building web sites. ParrArts embraces these formal standards and other technical specifications to create sites that use valid HTML, CSS and JavaScript to meet accessibility and semantic guidelines. The Web is "more than the sum of its parts," and so too, are the different technologies needed for its development. Find out more.
I am a web developer whose current interests are using jQuery, jQuery Mobile, Wordpress, PHP, HTML, CSS to bring together an accessible, feature-rich user experience on the web. Right now jQuery is my favorite flavor for user interaction and Wordpress for communicating. jQuery Mobile is another tool I'm exploring to build the mobile web. Building web sites using these technologies can take any project to a whole new level. Wow!
My 15 years of technology experience has been in both the "backend" and "frontend". I have worked as a network, systems, and database administrator and as a web developer. My passion is building the web and I love these new tools!
